Donald E. Meshberger, age 78, of Bluffton, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 13, 2018, at his residence.
Don was born on August 29, 1940, in Adams County, IN, to Chris Meshberger and Martha (Wahlie) Meshberger. He married Marilyn K. Perry in Miami, Oklahoma, on Dec. 30, 1982; she survives.
He graduated in 1958 from Berne French HS in Adams County, IN. Following graduation, Don enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1958 to 1963. Don attended Life Community Church, and was a member of the Bluffton Elk's Lodge # 796, and American Legion Post 111, Bluffton.
Don worked at CTS Manufacturing in Berne, IN and Alexander Proudfoot as a Consultant, retiring as Owner of IPT Inc. in Warren, IN. Following retirement, Don owned and operated his own rental home business in Columbia City, IN.
Don enjoyed restoring and working on his Model "A" Ford, taking fishing trips with his wife and spending time at the lakes and boating. Most of all, he enjoyed entertaining and cooking for friends and family.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn; two daughters, Lisa (Andrew) Antrim of Bluffton and Debra (Daniel) Bordo of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Bob (Diane) Meshberger of Tucson, AZ; Sister-in-law, Joy Meshberger of Rockford, IL; Brother-in-law, Tom (Bev) Perry of Keystone, IN; four grandchildren, Jacob (Annette) Antrim, Noah Antrim, Madeline Bordo and Cole Bordo; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; along with one brother, Lester Meshberger.
Per Don's request, there are no public services planned, private family burial will take place at the Brookside Cemetery, Montpelier, IN at a later date. Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
