Donald G. Maller, 55, of Bluffton, died at 11:10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Maller was born in Bluffton on July 26, 1956, to Glen W. and Mary (Bickel) Maller. Mr. Maller was a registered nurse, and a 1983 graduate of the Lutheran School of Nursing.He worked for over 20 years at Lutheran Hospital. He was a member of the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow from 1970 to 2002, scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 16 from 1999 to 2002, and received the District Award of Merit in 1997. Surviving relatives include one son,Garrett D. Maller of Fort Wayne; one daughter, Abby Maller of Fort Wayne; and two brothers, Glen "Bill" Maller Jr., of Fort Wayne and John Lee Maller of South Carolina. Calling hours will be from 2to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at the church with Pastor Jerry O'Neal officiating. Burial is at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to the Calvary Lutheran Church.
