Dolores E. Borton, 94, of Craigville, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Christian Care Retirement Community.

Born in Woodward, Oklahoma on Feb. 4, 1923, to John and Emilia Reith Brenner, Dolores married Frederick R. Borton of Zanesville, IN on Nov. 15, 1945.  They met while he was stationed in Woodward during WW2.  He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1975.

Dolores graduated as Valedictorian of her Senior Class at Woodward High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Along with being a homemaker, she also worked at Sunier & Lockwood Insurance as an insurance agent for 29 years.  Her hobbies included stamp collecting, reading, playing cards (she loved Bridge), traveling and sewing.  Her great joy in life was her five children and her grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, John (Carol) Borton of Sylvania, OH; three daughters, Katherine (James) Borton-Johnson of Centennial, CO; Patricia (Nicholas Stanil) Borton of Livonia, MI; Judith (Michael) Rohan of LaGrange, IL; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by her son, Michael D. Borton, and her sister, Ramona Reynolds.

Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2017, from 4:00 until 8:00PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.  Services will be held Saturday, July 15,2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bluffton, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Msgr. Pius N. Ilechukwu will officiate.  Burial will be at the Elm Grove Cemetery following the service.
