Diana D. "Dee Dee" Huffman, 58, of Bluffton, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at her residence. Dee Dee was born in Muncie on Nov. 27, 1950 to Martin and Retta (Van Natter) Hurst. She married Steve L. Huffman in Muncie on Dec. 17, 1970; he survives. Dee Dee was a 1968 graduate of Northwestern High School. She gained a B.S. in elementary education at Taylor University in 1972 and a masters' degree in music from Ball State University. She was a teacher of music and health and physical education at Bluffton Middle and Elementary Schools for 14 years. She was a director of the Home Economics County Extension Choir, and the Wells County Community Christmas Sing. She taught piano lessons and was a certified wellness consultant. Along with Steve, she was a co-founder of the Wells County Constitutional Patriots. Dee Dee was a bright and beautiful woman who loved God, family and friends with a true heart. We are blessed and better for having had her in our lives and look forward to seeing her in eternity. Other surviving relatives include two sons, Chad J. (Angie) Huffman of Fishers and Drew Huffman of Bluffton; two daughters, Nikia (Chad) Bradley of Keystone and Lenetta (Ryan) Mounsey of Petroleum; two sisters, Laurenda Hurst of Greentown and Dawnetta (Phil) Johnston of Kokomo; and five grandchildren. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home with Dr. Bryson E. Bell officiating. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery.
