Devona L. Longenberger, 85, of Bluffton, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Christian Care Retirement Community. She was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Adams County to Lewis and Julia Maller Gerber. She married Harry J. Longenberger May 2, 1948, in Adams County; he preceded her in death March 7, 2012. Devona is a member of the Kirkland High School Class of 1946. She was a bookkeeper at Gerber Furniture and a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Survivors include two sons, Steven (Kathy) Longenberger of Bluffton and Terry (Twila) Longenberger of Poneto; six grandchildren, Jonathon, Shawn, Brandon, Bryce, Jessie, and Jamie Longenberger; two brothers, Harry W. (Ada) Gerber of Monroe and Wilmer Gerber of Bluffton; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Gerber of Bluffton. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Frederick Gerber and Marie Kipfer. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, at the Apostolic Christian Church East with Mark Gerber and Ron Kipfer officiating. Calling hours are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
