Delores I. "Dee" Shady, 82, of Bluffton, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at the Christian Care Retirement Community. Mrs. Shady worked as a secretary at Franklin Electric, retiring after 26 years of service. She was a 1946 graduate of Kirkland High School. She was born May 25, 1928, in Adams County, to John H. Baumgartner and Mary Gehring Baumgartner. She married William "Bill" Shady March 14, 1948, in Bluffton; her husband died March 1, 2008. Survivors include a son, Steven (Cathy) Shady of Kendallville; two grandchildren; five sisters, Anna Rose (Don) Lloyd of Greensboro, Ga., Lillian (Kent) Sprunger of Berne, Lois (Lloyd) Tackwell of Fort Wayne, and Helen Woodard and Carolyn Yergler, both of Bluffton; and four brothers, Gene (Elaine) Baumgartner of Syracuse, and Galen (Joyce) Baumgartner, Howard (Joyce) Baumgartner, and Truman (Marjorie) Baumgartner, all of Bluffton. A sister, Jo Ann Harter, preceded her in death. Calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. There will also be calling from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church with Doyle Frauhiger and Nile Bucher officiating. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Christian Care Retirement Community.
