She was born Oct. 16, 1932, in Panama, Okla., to Eston and Evelyn M. (Walker) Marshall. She married Owen C. Brown in Jay County on June 25, 1949; he preceded her in death in 1985. She married Hershel A. Baker in Bryant on Aug. 17, 2001; he survives.

She worked at Corning Glass Works for nearly 20 years and attended Community Christian Church and Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Sherry (Ken) Hilliard of Portland, Barbara Huffman of Bluffton, and Sheila Diane (Tom) Brown of Costa Rica; a son, Russell (Paula) Brown of Bluffton; four stepchildren, Dale A. Baker and Virginia (Mark) Johnston, both of Henderson, Ky., Lucy Baker of Dixon, Ky., and Carolyn S. Swinehart of Madisonville, Ky.; a sister, Joann Hamilton of Bluffton; a brother, John (Dorothy) Marshall of Bluffton; 13 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Valentine and Bernice Whitesell.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 22, at the Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, with Dr. Bryson E. Bell officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Claycomb Cemetery in Jay County.
