Delaine L. Harned, 61, formerly of Bluffton, passed away at 5:12 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born on July 22, 1950, in Bluffton, to Kenneth A. Hartman and Pauline (Brewster) Hartman. She attended Southern Wells High School, and spent her whole life working in the medical field, spending the later portion of that time as a phlebotomist. She loved her family, and was always willing to help someone in need. She was also an avid animal lover, who had especially cherished her two dogs, Mya and Sassy. Surviving relatives include a son, Dan (Raquel) Harned of Henderson, Nev.; a daughter, Amber Kay (Donald) Potts of Warren, Ohio; six grandchildren, Elizabeth and Anthony Potts and Tylor, Darren, Makayla and Christopher Harned; five brothers, William J. Hartman of Bluffton, John (Patsy) Hartman of Antwerp, Ohio, Charles Hartman of Johnstown, Ohio, Steve (Karen) Hartman of Montpelier, and Raymond (Chris) Hartman of Keystone; a sister, Mary Schmidt of Bluffton; and her former husband, Bruce W. Harned of Warren, Ohio. Mrs. Harned was preceded in death by three brothers, Dave, Bob and Dan Hartman. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery, in Bluffton. Preferred memorials are to the Animal Shelter of Bluffton/Wells County.
