Debra Marie Nelson, 51, of Bluffton, died at 12:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center E.R. She was born March 11, 1961, in Bluffton, to Everett R. Carroll and Anita M. (Hernandez) Carroll. A 1979 graduate of Bluffton High School, she had been working as an inspector for Quality Inspection since 2006. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church and was active in Bluffton school and sports booster clubs. She was a huge supporter of her son's military career. She was very family oriented, taking care of her mother and all of her nieces and nephews. Surviving relatives include her mother of Bluffton; her companion, Sean Squire of Bluffton; a son, Trevor D. Nelson of Bethpage, N.Y.; a step-daughter, Jennifer D. (Vincent) Stetler-Seats of Greenwood; a sister, Julie Kinsey of Bluffton; two brothers, E.J. (Annette) Carroll of Huntington and Robert (Shawn) Carroll of Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; and a son, Taylor E. Nelson, who died Jan 13, 1993. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13; at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home with Pastor Kaleb Kinsey officiating. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery, in Bluffton.
