Dean Brickley, 87, of Ossian, passed away early Friday morning, Nov. 20, 2015, at his residence.
Born in Wells County on Nov. 20, 1928, to Herbert and Gladys (Roubaugh) Brickley, Dean married Gelene McDonald in Bluffton on July 24, 1948; she survives.
Dean worked at Harvester in Fort Wayne for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. He attended Bluffton Wesleyan Chapel.
Aside from his wife, Dean is survived by three daughters, Linda (James) Gerber of Brooksville, FL, Jeanne (Paul) Fate of Uniondale, and Cheryl Bunn (Dick Witte) of Ossian; a son, Glenn Brickley of Ft. Wayne; a son-in-law, Curt Brames of Grabill; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Bill (Lois) Brickley and Jerry (Pat) Brickley, both of Bluffton; and seven sisters, Elizabeth (William) Heron of Montpelier, Frieda Key of Monroeville, Beatrice Huffman of Goshen, Janet Marshall of Ft. Wayne, Dorothy (Enos) Gore of Keystone, Alice Jacobs of Ossian, and Dixie (Hank) Osborn of Ossian.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Emy Brames and infant Jacklyn Brickley; six brothers, George, Bryce, Richard, Warren, Chester, and Clarence Brickley; and one sister, Joan Knight.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, from 2:00 until 5:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Services will be held Monday, at 10:00 AM, at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Chad Clark will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Bluffton Wesleyan Chapel or Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fort Wayne.
