David "Thorn" L. Thornburg, 50, of Bluffton, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. He was born Dec. 6, 1961, in Greenville, Ohio, to H. Dave Thornburg and Janet Bubp Steffen. His mother, Janet Steffen, survives in Bluffton. He is also survived by his companion, Lisa Turner of Bluffton. Additional survivors include his stepmother, Marie Thornburg of Decatur, and seven siblings, Twyla (Melvin) Bice of Bluffton, Lindy Goetz of Howe, Cathy (Randy) Smith of Portland, Scheryl Krumma of Ossian, Jerry (June) Steffen of Auburn, and Dave Steffen and Barb Klosterman, both of Bluffton. A memorial service will be held at the Life Community Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, with Chad Ringger officating. Burial will be at a later date at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
