Dave "Ratman" Beers, age 58, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016, in Bluffton.

He was born in Detroit, MI, on April 16, 1957, to Roy Beers and Patricia Homan Sutherby; his father survives in Detroit, MI.

Dave enjoyed life.  He especially enjoyed auto-racing and spending time with family and friends.  He had owned his own welding business, Beers Fabrication, for many years in Bluffton.

Dave is survived by a son, Kyle Beers of Bluffton; a granddaughter, Zada Ford; and five sisters, Sherry Sutherby of Petroleum, Roxanne Christianson of Bluffton, Chrystal Sutherby of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Sherrie Motes of Clarksville, TN, and Kimberly Maitland of Randolph, NJ.

Aside from his mother, Dave was preceded in death by an infant son, Gavin Michael Beers, a brother, Lance Sutherby, and step-father, Dave Sutherby.

Friends and family are welcome to gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM, at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 242 in Bluffton.  Burial will be held at a later date at Six Mile Cemetery in Bluffton and Beers Cemetery in Coalport, PA.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family asks that preferred memorials are made to the family in care of the funeral home.
