Obituary

Darrell L. Stultz, 89, of rural Bluffton, passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 31, 2021, at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Darrell was born in Portland on Mar. 27, 1932, to John D. and Grace N. (Winget) Stultz.  He married Iris E. August at their home in Bluffton on Dec. 25, 1956; she survives.

A 1950 graduate of Bluffton High School, Darrell was a longtime member of Living Water United Church.  He served in the Army National Guard from 1950 until 1958 and was a member of the American Legion Post 111.

Darrell was a lifelong farmer in Wells County and drove school bus for Bluffton Harrison Metropolitan School District for five years.  He also worked for the County Highway Department for about five years and drove charter bus for twenty years, until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Darrell is survived by two daughters, Nina Stultz of Bluffton and Dawn Koepke (Scottie Brown) of Fort Wayne; a son, Scott Stultz of Bluffton; along with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Aside from his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna and Carla Stultz; a grandson, Adam Studebaker; a brother, Dale Stultz; and a sister, Sara Morgan.

Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.  Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service.  Pastor Clark Stoller will officiate.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton.
