Dale R. Maller, 86, of Bluffton, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Rolling Meadows Health Care in LaFountaine. He was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Wells County to Samuel and Katie M. Schwartz Maller. He married Pauline J. Williams May 7, 1954, in Bluffton; she preceded him in death July 11, 1983. Dale graduated from Bluffton High School in 1946 and served in the Army during the Korean War, 1946 to 1947 and 1950 to 1952. He retired from K-Mart Kresge Distribution in 1991 after 32 years of service. He was an avid bowler and loved golfing, playing pool and spending time with family. He attended the Park United Brethren Church of Bluffton and was a member of American Legion Post 111 in Bluffton. Survivors include two sons, Brad (Joanne) Maller of Kokomo and Jan (Deanna) Maller of LaFountaine; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The last surviving sibling, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Wayne, and Roger Maller, and a sister, Marge Ringger. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Larry Taylor officiating. Calling hours are 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
