Cynthia “Cindy” J. Dillon, 80, of Bluffton, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at her residence.

Cindy was born in Portland on April 23, 1946. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Norris and Francis (Besser) Barber. She married Jerold “Jerry” L. Dillon in Columbus, OH, on July 12, 1964. Jerry preceded her in death on December 13, 2024.

A 1964 graduate of Eastmore High School in Columbus, OH, Cindy worked as a beautician in her early years. She later worked at Kitco Inc. in Bluffton for over 30 years as the lab supervisor and after Kitco closed, she went to work at PolyMod Technologies in Fort Wayne for another five years until retirement. She also kept her beauty license for many years and periodically still styled hair.

Cindy was a long-time member of the First Church of Christ in Bluffton. She was very creative and artistic and also enjoyed sewing. In addition to her artistic abilities, Cindy will be remembered for her love of playing cards, especially euchre, and her love for spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, DeeDee (Jay) Foley of Springdale, AR, and Kim (Jeff) Higginbottom of Bluffton; a brother, Donald Cole of Bluffton; 12 grandchildren, Sarah Pendragon, Heather Foley, Caylie Foley, Jessica Foley, Gloria (Devon) Pike, Robin Higginbottom, Veronica Eikenberry, Esther (Matthew) Wilcox, Dillon Higginbottom, Samuel Higginbottom, Beatrice Higginbottom, and Tobias Higginbottom; along with eight great-grandchildren, Ella Goldfain, Brendan Goldfain, Madailein Goldfain, Alister Fletcher, Fenris Fletcher, Ember Eikenberry, Luna Eikenberry, and Trayden Wilcox.

In addition to her parents and husband, Cindy was preceded in death by her stepfathers, Thomas Cole and William Mowrer; two sisters, Bonnie Wolfer and Judy Cole; and an infant brother, Tommy Cole.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from noon until 2:00 PM, at Goodwin – Harnish Funeral Home in Bluffton, followed immediately by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Gary Reiber will officiate. Private family burial will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
