Crystal M. Masterson, 83, of Bluffton, died at 1:25a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at the Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Masterson had been employed at the Wayne KnittingMill and was a homemaker. She enjoyed baby-sitting her grandchildren. She was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Wells County, to Leander Tuttle and Mary Ellen McCullier Tuttle. She married Earl E. Masterson July 2, 1949, in Hartford City; her husband died Sept. 24, 1986. Survivors include three daughters, Paula (Dennis)Deininger of Bluffton, Joyce (Stephen) Johnson of Berne,and Vickie William) Osborn of Bluffton; a son, KeithMasterson of Bluffton; a daughter-in-law, Thelma Studabaker of Bluffton; and 11 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren,four great-great-grandchildren, and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James B. Studabaker; a daughter, Roberta M. Kernstein;a stepgrandchild; three brothers,Charles Tuttle, Robert Tuttle, and Vernon Tuttle; and a sister, Velma Osborn. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m.Friday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.Saturday at the Goodwin MemorialChapel. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Greg Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery east of Bluffton. Preferred memorials are to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital for cancer research.
