Clyde L. Gray, 93, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton. Born in Wells County on Sept. 4, 1918, to Roy and Velvie (Coffield) Gray, he married Rosemary L. Baroni on July 13, 1940, in Bluffton. His wife died Dec. 16, 2009. A Bluffton High School graduate, he and his wife moved to Houston, Texas, in 1953, where he was employed by Trunkline Gas Co. as assistant manager in the right of way department. He retired in 1983 and returned to Bluffton in 1988. He was a former member of the Lions Club and was a member of First Reformed Church of Bluffton. He is survived by 10 nieces and nephews: Jerry Oswalt, Marilyn Sark, Max (Cathy) Oswalt, and Mike (Mary Dean) Meade, all of Bluffton, Pat (Becky) Meade of Rochester, Rex (Terry) Meade of Dundas, Ontario, Jeff Meade of Fort Wayne, and Dick Frantz, Tom Frantz and Cheryl Frantz of Portland, Ore. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Frantz, Vallera Meade and Jennie Oswalt, and by three nephews, Tim Meade, Greg Meade and Jim Frantz. Calling will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, followed immediately by graveside services at Fairview Cemetery with Dr. Bryson E. Bell officiating. Preferred memorials are to the Christian Care Retirement Community.
