Charles W. "Chad" Myers, 76, of Bluffton, passed away Sept. 9, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital. Chad was born Sept. 9, 1938, in Bluffton to Wilfred F. and Nellie M. Horner Myers. He married Beth M. Bills Myers Oct. 24, 1993, in Fort Wayne; she preceded him in death March 3, 1996. Chad graduated from Bluffton High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a construction mechanic at James Jackson Construction Co. and later worked at BRC, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the American Legion Post 111, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed wood working. Survivors include three sons, James C.R. Myers of Bluffton, Tracy J. (Julia) Myers of Bluffton, and Shawn E. (Jennifer) Myers of Boulevard, Calif.; a daughter, Jackie S. (Doug) Holloway of Vera Cruz; a daughter-in-law, Krista Pennie Myers of West Lake, Ohio; three sisters, Judith Gaskin of Fort Wayne, Carolyn (John) Brenner of Hartford City, and Charlene Pace of Hartford City; and three grandchildren, Eric, Ashley and Jackson Myers, all of Boulevard, Calif. He was preceded in death by a son, Shane E. Myers, and an infant brother, Richard Myers. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating. Calling hours are from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service Friday. Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton in conjunction with the United States Army Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
