Former Wells County resident Charles Marion McFarren, 79, of Fort Wayne, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2009, at his residence. Mr. McFarren was born in Wells County on Sept.25, 1929 to Ernest and Della (Harris) McFarren. He married Lorretta Lu Trueblood in Fort Wayne on Feb.14, 1980; she survives. Other surviving relatives include four daughters, Rosella (Don) Thatcher of Albion, Teresa (Larry) Elliott of Churubusco, Anna Newman of Columbia City and Roberta (Randy) Geisleman of Huntertown; and three sisters, Mildred Campbell of Frankfort, Betty Correl of Peru and Bonnie (Joy) Thompson of Waynedale. Mr. McFarren was preceded in death by one brother, Harold McFarren; and one sister, Pauline McFarren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial is at the McFarren Cemetery, in Wells County.
