Cathy Ann Smeltzer, 55, Bluffton, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at her residence. Mrs. Smeltzer was a 1972 graduate of Bluffton High School. She had been employed for 23 years at Kitco, where she worked as an inspector. She was born May 28, 1954, in Huntington, to William Clanin and Norma Walmsley Clanin. Her father survives in Bluffton. She married Gary D. Smeltzer March 3, 1973, in Reiffsburg. Her husband survives. Also surviving are two sons, Chris (Heather) Smeltzer of Bluffton and Joseph (Andrea) Smeltzer of Roanoke; a daughter, Michelle Smeltzer of Hendersonville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; a brother, Kent (Penny) Clanin of Delray Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Kim (Hugh) Crouse of Bluffton. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with David Smeltzer officiating. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery.
