Cathy J. (Booth) Borgelt, 71, of Surprise, AZ, and formerly of Adams County, passed away Monday morning, December 1, 2025, at her residence.

Cathy was born on July 19, 1954, in Adams County, to Emery and Jane (Milholland) Booth. She was preceded in death by her parents, along with her stepfather, Carl Hurst. She married Rev. Larry G. Borgelt in Decatur on January 4, 1974; he survives.

Cathy graduated from Bellmont High School in 1972 and later received her nursing degree from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne in 1975.

In addition to her husband, Cathy is survived by two daughters, Pamela Borgelt of Eau Claire, WI, and Laura (Robert) Jenkins of Bloomer, WI; a sister, Bonnie Strong of North Port, FL; and six grandchildren, Bennett Borgelt, Jackson Belke, Austin Belke, Nathaniel Jenkins, Russell Jenkins, and Zackery Jenkins.

In addition to her parents and stepfather, Cathy was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Said.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Goodwin – Harnish Funeral Home, 3220 East State Road 124, Bluffton, IN, with one hour of visitation prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. Cathy’s husband, Rev. Larry Borgelt will officiate. Private family burial will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.

Memorial contributions in Cathy’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the hospice organization of the donor’s choice.
