Carolyn M. Neely, 85, formally of Bluffton, IN passed away Friday evening, Sept. 25, 2020 at her residence in Ft. Wayne.

Carolyn was born in Ft. Wayne on May 5, 1935.  Her parents, Robert and Lydia (Kleinknight) Girod preceded her in death.  She married Billy N. Neely in Werling, WV. on May 16, 1977; he preceded her in death on July 12, 2015.

She was employed with Franklin Electric in Bluffton, retiring after 42 years of service. She was a member of the Bluffton Wesleyan Chapel and attended Emmanuel Community Church in Ft. Wayne. Carolyn enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles and tending to her flowers.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Girod of Ft. Wayne; a step-son, Harry Neely of Corona, IN; two grandsons, Robert J.D. "Bobby" (Abigail) Girod of Fishers, IN and Joshua D. (Kristin) Slaughter of NAS Pax River, MD.; and three great grandchildren, Alexander, Gregory and Theodore Slaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter-in-law, Laurie Ann Girod on August 5, 2020.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.  Rev. Chad Clark and Rev. Ward Lewis will officiate.

A funeral service to celebrate Carolyn's life will be on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, at 1:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.  Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Ossian.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton Wesleyan Chapel and Emmanuel Community Church.
