Carolyn F. Squier, 70, a resident of River Terrace Estates in Bluffton for the past seven years, died there at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009. She had worked as a secretary for Wendell Ham, an attorney, for 10 years, and also worked as an office assistant in the Wells County clerk's office. She was a 1956 graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Huntington College for a year. She was a member of the Sonlight Wesleyan Church. She was born Dec. 8, 1938, in Wells County, to John L. and Edna Ellen Smith McFarren. Survivors include three daughters, Brenda (Richard) Robbins of Bluffton, Shiela (Daniel) Anderson of Fort Wayne, and Lynn (Dennis) Boolman of Portland; three sons, Byron Squier and Shaun Squier, both of Bluffton, and Lonnie Squier of Auburn; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the last of her family, having been preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Boolman, who died in 2002. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Lyle Breeding officiating. Burial will be at the McFarren Cemetery in Wells County. Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.
