Carolyn J. Gerber, 71, a resident of rural Craigville, died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at the Christian Care Retirement Community. Mrs. Gerber worked for 18 years at the Les Gerber Insurance Agency as a licensed agent and office clerk. She was a 1958 graduate of Decatur High School and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She was born Dec. 25, 1939, in Decatur, to Harry Frauhiger and Berniece Hanni Frauhiger. Her mother survives in Decatur. She married William "Bill" Gerber March 19, 1961, in Wells County; her husband survives. Also surviving are three sons, Rodney (Rochelle) Gerber of Bluffton, Michael (Tammy) Gerber of Decatur, and William Gerber Jr. of Bluffton; a daughter Shelley (Greg) Miller of Bluffton; six grandchildren; six brothers, Fred (Nancy) Frauhiger of Carmel, Gary (Carol) Frauhiger of Fort Wayne, Bill Frauhiger of Fort Wayne, Philip (Linda) Frauhiger of Fort Wayne, Robert Frauhiger of Hilton Head, S.C., and Stanley (Lou) Frauhiger of Decatur; and two sisters, Mary Jo Frauhiger of Decatur and Barbara Weiss of Carmel. She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Richard Gerber; a grandson, Luke Gerber; a brother, James Frauhiger; and a sister, Judy Frauhiger. Calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. There will be additional calling from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
