Caroline A. "Carolyn" Heyerly, 78, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 9, 2023, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, IN. following an extended illness.

Carolyn was born in Paulding, OH. on Feb. 15, 1944, to Joseph and Elsie (Rager) Schlatter, both parents preceded her in death. She married Thomas W. Heyerly in Paulding, OH. on April 4, 1965, he preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1985.

Carolyn was a graduate of Blue Creek H.S. in Haviland, OH. She retired from Goodwill Industries after 15 years of service. She moved from Indiana to Mesa, AZ in 1987, eventually residing in Missoula, MT. Carolyn moved back to Indiana in 2020, residing in Decatur with her son and daughter in law due to her decline in heath.

She is survived by one son; Troy (Tammy) Heyerly of Decatur, IN. two grandchildren; Nicholas Heyerly and Caitlin Heyerly, four brothers; Otto Schlatter of Florida, Joe Schlatter of Paulding, OH., Gus (LeAnn) Schlatter of Paulding, OH. and Eli (Janelle) Schlatter of Camden, MI.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Wayne Heyerly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, from 4 to 7:00 PM at the Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, IN. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with visistation 1 hour prior to the service. Doyle Frauhiger will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Adams County.
