Carl "Buck" Shane, 80, of Bluffton, passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 2, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, following a short illness.

Carl was born in Huntington, IN, on Nov. 14, 1942, to Sam and Martha (Craiger) Shane, both parents preceded him in death. He married Linda S. Bricker on May 17, 1997, in Bluffton, she survives in Bluffton.

He was a lifelong over the road truck driver, retiring from Ormsby Trucking in 2016. Carl enjoyed following I. U. Basketball, riding his motorcycle and enjoyed traveling with his wife.

In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by a son; Travis (Stephanie) Shane of Berne, IN, two step-children; Matt Niblick and Tamara (Ed) Moore, both of Bluffton, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, two step-sisters; Melanie Cloud of Marion and Debbie Flynn of Warren, IN.

Carl was preceded in death by both his parents, a daughter; Sanja Shane, and a sister; Patty Bunch.

In accordance with Carl's wishes, there will be no public services.

Private family burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.

Carl's arrangements have been entrusted to the Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.
