Broderick W. Gilgen, 49, of Bluffton, died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center E.R. Mr. Gilgen was born in Wells County on March 16, 1960, to Dale V. and Joyce A. Bisel Gilgen. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1977 to 1978, and gained his GED during his period of service. He worked at Fabri-Form in Bluffton until he was disabled in 2001. His faithful companion was an Australian Shepherd named "Chester." Surviving relatives include four daughters, Sabrina A. Gilgen and Rachel M. (Dan) Cowen, both of Huntington, and Tessa Gilgen and Cary B. Gilgen, both of Arkansas; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Angela (Dan) Mangold of Fort Wayne, Laura (Rick) Pierce of Tennessee and Ellyn R. Ramseyer of Fort Wayne; and aunts and uncles, Jerry and Doris Leimgruber of Bluffton and Norman and Ruth Bisel of Arizona. Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. There will be no service or burial. Preferred memorials are to the family.
