Obituary

Betty Jo Young, 77, of Huntington, the sister of two Bluffton residents, died at her home at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Mrs. Young was born April 14, 1934, at Shelby Gap, Ky., to Leaf VanOver and Cosby Alice Anderson VanOver. She married Robert M. Young July 13, 1968, in Ringgold, Ga.; her husband preceded her in death October 23, 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Wayne) Smith of Defiance, Ohio; three grandchildren; four half-sisters, Bertha (Tony) Arroyo of Fort Wayne, Carrie Kennedy of West Virginia, and Nina Moriarity and Jean Burns, both of Bluffton; and two half-brothers, Bobbie VanOver and David (Jenny) VanOver, both of Huntington. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virgie Tordoff, and a half-sister, Martha Palmar. Calling will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at a later date at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pennville.
