Obituary

Betty A. Haggard, 85, Ossian, passed away at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at her residence.

Born in Spencer, Ohio, July 11, 1930, to Arnold and Clara Pitt Hines, she married E. Wayne Haggard Jan. 21, 1950 in Ossian; he survives.

A 1949 graduate of Ossian High School, she was a homemaker and a member of First Reformed Church.

Other survivors include three sons, Larry (LeAnn) Haggard of Indianapolis, Verlyn "Butch" Haggard of Ossian and Scott Haggard of Mongo; two daughters, Cheryl (James) Roller of Ossian and Debra (David) Hasler of Uniondale; two brothers, Arnold (Emily) Hines of Fort Wayne and Bill (Ruth) Hines of Auburn; 15 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sharren Haggard; a great-grand-daughter, Lilah George; and a sister, Marie Stahl.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Reformed Church in Bluffton with Dr. Bryson E. Bell officiating. Calling hours are Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel and Sunday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Ossian.

Preferred memorials are to the Wells Community Boys and Girls Club or the Back Pack program.
