Betty Jane Burtt, 84, of Bluffton, passed away at 11:16 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Bluffton. Mrs. Burtt was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Indianapolis, to Wilbur W. Hendrickson and Viola M. Bleuter. She married William D. Burtt Dec. 29, 1956, in Indianapolis; her husband preceded her in death Jan. 9, 1998. Mrs. Burtt was a secretary for Syndicate Glass for 30 years. She was a 1948 graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis. Survivors include her children, Tina (Jeff) Shank of Bluffton and Kimberly (Kurt) Douglass of Dublin, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Burtt of Greenwood; son-in-law David Stokes of Greenwood; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Martin D. Burtt; a daughter, Rebecca A. Stokes; a brother, Ralph Hendrickson; and one great-grandchild. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lenny Stringer officiating. Calling hours are Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Burial will be at Union Baptist Cemetery Greensburg. Memorials may be made to Family LifeCare.
