Betty L. Bercot, age 82, resident of Berne, IN passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 following an extended illness.

Betty was born in Wells County on Sept. 28, 1936 to Fred and Sarah (Michel) Wenger; both parents preceded her in death. She married John L. Bercot on March 12, 1955 in Wells County, he preceded her in death on January 25, 2011.

Betty attended Bluffton High School and graduated in 1954, she was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress at Berne Furniture for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing comforters for the grandchildren, traveling and camping as well as planting flowers at her home.

She is survived by three children, a son, Jeffrey L. Bercot of Berne, IN; two daughters, Debra Bercot of Berne, IN and Rebecca (Doug Riesen) Muhlenkamp of Bluffton. Also surviving is a brother, Don (Anne) Wenger of Ft. Wayne, IN. Five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband; three sisters, Mary Shaw, Dorothy Bacon and Joan Clanin; three brothers, Fred,Norman and Harry Wenger.

Services will be held 11:00 AM on  Saturday June 8, 2019, at the Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel 3220 East SR 124 Bluffton, IN with Tim Timmons officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 AM.

Private family burial will take place at a later date.
