Avis L. Freds, 84, of Fort Myers, Fla., died Thursday,July 22, 2010, at her residence. Mrs. Freds was born in Huntington County on Aug.15, 1925, to Frank and Mary (Beck) Allred. She married Bryce S. Freds in Warren on April 22, 1943; he survives. A 1943 graduate of West Rockcreek High School,Mrs. Freds was a homemaker who also assisted her husband with the farming duties. She was a member of Markle Church of the Brethren. Other surviving relatives include one son, Larry (Kea)Freds of Lansing, Mich.; one brother, Wayne (Colleen) Allred of Warren; three sisters, Mary Lou Haworth of Fort Myers, Fla., Georgia (Ray) Karst of Fort Wayne, and Marjorie (Robert)Mickley of Huntington; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Mrs. Freds was preceded in death by two sons, Darrell and Mark Freds. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Coach Light Manor Community Center in Fort Myers, Fla. Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington, IN. A graveside service and burial will take place locally at a later date. Preferred memorials are to Coach Light Manor Association, 18050 S.
