Arthur D. Kipfer, 89, of Bluffton,died at 4:35 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at the Christian Care Retirement Community. Mr. Kipfer had been employed with Moser Implement for 34 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 111 in Bluffton. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Mr. Kipfer was born April 24,1921, in Adams County, to David Kipfer and Fannie Reinhart Kipfer.He was married twice. His first marriage was to Goldie M. Moser; they were married March 7, 1948, in Wells County, and she preceded him in death Sept. 1, 1995. He married Sarah F. Gerber Oct. 1, 1997, in Bluffton, and she preceded him in death April 4, 2006. Survivors include a son, Lynn (Valerie) Kipfer of Cedar Creek, Texas; a daughter, Kristie Meyer of Livonia, Mich.; a stepson, Philip Beer of Craigville; two stepdaughters, Judy (David) Fleming of Decatur and Nancy Birch of Huntington; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald (Jean) Kipfer of Bluffton. He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Edward Beer, and a sister, Pauline Fiechter. Calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. There will be additional calling from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Christian Care Retirement Community.
