Obituary

Arlin M. Kimmer, age 84, of Bluffton, died at 11:20 PM Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Meadowvale Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Kimmer was born in Wells County on Apri 10, 1926, to Clarence and Hazel L. (McLaughlin) Kimmer. He married Willie Mae "Billie" Rains in Fort Wayne on June 20, 1958: she preceded him in death on June 25, 2000. A 1944 graduate of Rockcreek High School, Mr. Kimmer served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was al lifelong Wells County farmer and a retired truck driver for Ormsby Trucking in Uniondale, IN. He was a member of Bluffton First Church of the Nazarene. Surviving relatives include one son, John Kimmer of Fort Wayne, one son-in-law, Phil (Jennifer) Hook of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Karen (Richard) Fellows of Martinsville, Indiana; and on grandson, Nathan Hook. Mr. Kimmer was also preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Hook who died in 1988; and one sister, Marzee Lenwell, who died in Dec. 2009. Calling hours will be fron 10:00 AM to 2PM Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, at the funeral home with Pastor Martin Hodge officiating. Burial is at Spyder Hill Cemetery in Wells County, IN. Preferred memorials are to the Family Hospice and Palliative Care.
