Anthony Joseph "A.J." Maller, 37, of rural Bluffton, died at 2:23 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at his residence. He loved auto racing, particularly IndyCar, wrestling, and most of all being with his family. He was a 1999 graduate of South Adams High School. He was born June 20, 1977, in Wells County, to Brad D. Maller and Lisa A. Overmeyer Dent. His parents survive. He is also survived by his stepfather, Greg (Lisa) Dent of Bluffton, and his stepmother, JoAnne (Brad) Maller of Kokomo. Also surviving are three sisters, Hannah Maller and Katie Maller, both of Kokomo; Lauren Dent of Bluffton; a stepbrother, Michael Lewis of Washington, D.C.; and a grandmother, Margaret Overmeyer of Bluffton. Several aunts and uncles also survive. He was preceded in death by three grandparents, Gordon Overmeyer, Dale Maller, and Pauline Maller. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the First Church of Christ in Bluffton with Larry Sprinkle officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
