Alvin M. Smith, 64, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at his residence in Bluffton.

Alvin was born in Hillsdale, MI on Feb. 7, 1961, to James H. and Phyllis M. (Shipp) Smith, both parents preceded him in death. He was a 1980 graduate of Angola High School and worked most of his life as a machinist, retiring in 2024.

Alvin married Vickie Fay (Watson) on Aug. 23, 1984, in Fremont, IN, she preceded him in death in 2008.

He is survived by his daughter, Tristan Smith of South Whitley, IN; stepson, James Lent of Fremont, IN; and five grandchildren; two sisters, Marie (Dan) Fry of West Point, MS. and Susan Leslie of Ft. Wayne; two brothers, Cecil J. Smith of Bluffton and James H. Smith of Ft. Wayne.

Per Alvin's wishes, there are no public services planned at this time. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
