Coldiron
October 28, 1950 – March 10, 2018
Allan D. Coldiron, 67, of Ossian, passed away Saturday afternoon, Mar. 10, 2018, at his residence.
Allan was born in 1950, in Harlan, KY, to Cam and Alma Coldiron. He and his wife Ruby were married in 1971; she survives.
He obtained an associates degree from Ivy Tech in Machine Tool Technology and then a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. He worked as a machinist for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions in New Haven for 22 years until his retirement. In his later years, he also had become a real estate agent, an auctioneer, and broker agent, and had many interests.
Allan was a member of the Bluffton Masonic Lodge 145, F &AM, Valley of the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine. He was also a member of the Shrine Radio Club, Fort Wayne Radio Club, Shrine Hillbilly Clan, Shrine Horse Patrol, and a Kentucky Colonel.
He enjoyed being with his family whom he loved so deeply. He loved fishing, boating, camping, and traveling with his family. He also enjoyed watching football, baseball, and basketball, and especially reading his Bible. Allan was of the Baptist faith, and was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa, and will be missed by all.
In addition to his wife, Allan is survived by two daughters, Mechelle (Rich) Cinninger and Angela (Jeremy) Mullennix; a son, Chip (Candis) Coldiron; five grandchildren, Zachary (Jessica) Ferry, Jacob Ferry, Leah and Garrett Mullennix, and Cayden Coldiron; and one great-granddaughter, Nora Ferry.
Aside from his parents, Allan was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Gerald Coldiron.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Mar. 13, 2018, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, followed by a Masonic Service at 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Mar. 14, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Dustin Leimgruber will officiate. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Ossian.
Memorial contributions may be given to Visiting Nurse of Ft. Wayne or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
