Alice E. Gephart, 73, of Bluffton, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Alice was born Feb. 15, 1941, in Bluffton to George Hiester and Marcella Ladig Hiester. She married Jesse A. Gephart Oct. 6, 1959, in Bluffton; he preceded her in death April 24, 2010. She graduated with the Bluffton High School Class of 1959 and attended West Missionary Church in Berne. She was a member of the Wells County Homemaker Extension Club. She loved to crochet, stamp collecting, coin collecting, working on crafts, and had a vast collection of bells. Alice was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Phillip K. (Lura) Gephart of Portland; three daughters, Sherry (Tom) Kizer of Bluffton, Beth (Arthur) Reimer of Montpelier, and Anna Gephart of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Keith (Jo) Hiester of Decatur and Carroll (Janice) Hiester of Blufffton; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Gephart, in 1981. A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Calling hours are from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
