Alfred R. Gordon, 84, of Rockcreek Township, passed away at 9:24 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born June 6, 1928, in Rockcreek Township, to Robert Ray Gordon and Carrie Alice (Foster) Gordon. He married Gloria E. Stoffel, Nov. 26, 1949, in SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Huntington; she survives.

A 1946 graduate of Rockcreek High School, Mr. Gordon was a life-long farmer in Rockcreek Township. He was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church. He was a family man, especially enjoying time with his grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Daniel R. (Beth) Gordon of Rockcreek Township; one daughter, Connie M. (Tim) Brennan of Naperville, IL; and seven grandchildren, Robert Gordon, John Gordon, Lizzie Gordon, Katherine Gordon, Philip Gordon, Will Brennan, and Mike Brennan.

Alfred was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur L. Gordon.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bluffton. A Rosary Service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at the church, with Fr. Francis Chukwuma officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, in Bluffton.
